About Us

The Nationwide Homeownership and Housing Development Campaign is the flagship initiative of the Centre for Housing Reforms and Housing Development Innovation (CHRHDI) — designed to advance the national agenda for affordable homeownership, inclusive urban development, and sustainable housing delivery across Nigeria.

Anchored on the principles of collaboration, innovation, and reform, the campaign seeks to align federal, state, and local housing policies with practical strategies that enable every Nigerian to aspire to and achieve homeownership. It also seeks to take housing policies at the federal level to the grassroots where homes are equally needed.

The initiative embodies evidence-based advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and implementation support across all tiers of government.

The Nationwide Homeownership and Housing Development Campaign is a private sector-led think-and-do tank, committed to strengthening housing systems across Nigeria. We carry out state and regional seminars, executive workshops, advocacy initiatives, and provide policy support to help governments at all levels:

At the same time, we equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to become homeowners, ensuring housing reforms benefit every Nigerian. By fostering collaboration between governments, private sector actors, and communities, we create a housing ecosystem that works.

Our mission

To empower governments and citizens through practical, evidence-based housing solutions, bridging policy gaps and enabling access to affordable homes across Nigeria.

our vision

A Nigeria where housing policies are effectively implemented, opportunities for homeownership are accessible, and every citizen can secure a safe and affordable home.

Our Objectives

Our commitment goes beyond completing projects; we strive to drive policy alignment, practical solutions, and citizen empowerment in housing

Strengthen coordination among housing agencies, ministries, and development institutions to ensure coherence and continuity in housing delivery.

Support frameworks that make mortgage financing, rent-to-own schemes, and cooperative housing accessible to low- and middle-income earners.

Facilitate innovative models for upgrading informal settlements and integrating affordable housing into urban development plans.

Provide training, policy guidance, and technical support to government institutions and housing practitioners.

Engage the private sector, civil society, and development partners to co-create sustainable solutions for housing finance and delivery.

Why It Matters

Housing is more than shelter; it’s the foundation for security, stability, and economic growth. By connecting governments, private sector expertise, and citizens, this campaign transforms policy into action and homes into reality.
